Adapting to the trends in current men’s business attire, Ron now provides more casual sports and dress wear including jeans, button-down shirts, sweaters, and more.
At his store, you’ll find quality clothing at a reasonable price.
Ron's Clothing Business Evolution
Ron studied marketing at Southern Illinois University. When his professor asked him what he really liked to do, he replied, “I like dressing up and clothes.”
From there, his journey began.
Ford arrived in Southern California in the 1960s looking to break into the clothing business.
In 1974, Ron Stuart Men’s Clothing was incorporated into a business in Los Angeles along with a business partner whose first name was “Stuart”.
Ron then opened a San Diego location seven years later located on the corner of 6th & C Street where he employed numerous tailors.
Ron Stuart Men’s Clothing maintained a presence in both San Diego and Los Angeles for more than a decade, but then Ford made a decision to leave Los Angeles in 1992 to pursue the San Diego location.
A few years later, his San Diego location moved to the corner of 5th & C Street.
Later on, the business moved to 225 A Street.
The store’s current location is 2410 1st Ave. in Bankers Hill. Logistically, it is within five blocks to a number of locales, including downtown and Balboa Park.
